Madhuri Vijay was born and raised in Bangalore. She is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, and her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Best American Short Stories, Best American Nonrequired Reading, and Narrative Magazine. Her first novel, The Far Field, won India’s JCB Prize for Literature and was a finalist for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature.
